Largemouth BassTechniqueNed RigsSeasonSummerStructureLedgesThis is another small lake in northern Vilas county rich with quantity of both smallmouth and largemouth bass. The launch is a bit out of the way, but that just means the fishing pressure is that much lower. You are unlikely to find any trophies, but I caught 18 bass in 5 hours yesterday. Fish the ned rig for smallies in the deeper water off the rocks, and fish both smallies and largemouth using wacky on the weed/pad edges. The XZone bass candy color worked well for ned, and I used a mixture of XZone and Yum blue and nature colors for the wacky. No need for weedless here unless you plan to go into the floating vegetation.

Smallmouth BassTechniqueWacky RigsSeasonSummerStructureLily PadsJute lake is an interesting lake. You're basically 'off-roading' to get to the launch. Once you get on the lake you're treated to lots and lots of largemouth and smallmouth bass. While there weren't any over 18", I did catch 30 bass this day throwing a green senko on the edges of the lily pads.
