TechniqueDeep Diving Crankbaits (13'+)SeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureRip RapWater was warm but fish were not staged out on ledges yet. Found fish very shallow in 1 to 3 feet of water, usually along submerged brush along creek channel or rip rap. Was able to catch largemouth and smallmouth on both squarebills/cranks in rip rap, small swimbaits over flats with submerged brush and wacky rigged senko around shallow laydowns. For small swimbait used Zman texas eye jighead with small Minnowz plastic.

TechniqueWacky RigsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureStumpsCypress trees are a popular spawning habitat for bass. Tie on a 4-5” Wacky Rig and target the trees on shallow flats and sheltered pockets. You can’t cast too shallow! The fish in the picture was in the slack water behind an old cypress tree. The water was about 10-12 inches deep
