Fish were just at the beginning of the fall topwater bite where they push shad up on shallow main lake points. A bone Sexy Dawg Jr. is my go-to all fall when this bite is on.

Every morning in the summer the smallmouth are willing to smash a shock blade. The only thing that changes is the retrieve and the location of the fish. There a handful of retrieves I use. Burning it, slow roll, burn pause and slow roll with a twitch. Sometimes the fish are tight to the bank and in less than two feet of water. This is when I burn the shock blade. Sometimes the fish are deep so slow rolling it is required to get it down deep enough.
