 - Fished our club's final tournament of the year on Lake Gaston from Nov 3 to Nov 4, 2023. Found abundant spotted bass holding tightly to stumps in 5 to 10 feet of slightly stained water. I used a combination of drop shots, finesse shakey heads, and jig-n-pigs to catch a limit each day. My good friend and co-angler, Zack S., and I also had the good fortune of stumbling onto spotted bass chasing a large school of shad and blueback herring in a small cove. We caught fish on nearly every cast for nearly 20 minutes using keitech swimbaits and a homemade underspin jig. As he often does when fishing with me, Zack won the co-angler division of our tournament!
