Largemouth BassTechniqueDrop ShotSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationWon my league tournament on Geneva. Fish were up shallow cruising shallow grass flats and were very spooky. Learned from last year that they want something very subtle and you need to have light line. Just barely quivering a SK Half shell on a dropshot with a 8 inch drop to weight. Was an awesome night. 14 lbs in a tough 3hr tournament made me proud! Get you some light line and dropshots and try it yourself!

Smallmouth BassTechniqueFinesse JigsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructurePointsCasting towards hard rocky bottoms and the smallmouth would just crush the jig, small hops, almost like you are dragging the jig.

Smallmouth BassTechniqueHover/Mid-StrollingSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructurePointsSmashed the early season smallies! If you aren’t strolling a minnow what are you doing?! Pick up these baits and you’ll catch them for sure next spring!

Smallmouth BassTechniqueHard JerkbaitsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationFishing a jerkbait over submerged sand grass in 10 fow was the pattern of the day. The fish were prespawn and roaming over the flats staging outside the areas they spawn

Largemouth BassTechniqueDrop ShotSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureDocksWas able to get some largemouth off beds today. Bite overall was tough with fish being really finicky. Had to work for those fish on beds. Right now smallmouth seem to have more weight to them so if you’re in an upcoming tournament try to target those if you can. The Hazedong shad was the bait that got most the fish off the beds.

Largemouth BassTechniqueBladed JigsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructurePointsDrastic temperature changes have bass all over the lake, some moving shallow to spawn and others still staying deeper, hard to get bites but there is a few here and there.

WalleyeTechniqueNed RigsSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureDocksLake Geneva during this time may be the best chance for massive walleyes. Last year I got the chance to learn about the Walleyes at Geneva, and I know where they are located at this time(mid-spring). The largest population I have found are under docks, they will sit their and not relocate. They are all shallow and want small food, try throwing a Zman TRD(more specifically a TicklerZ). The legs on a TicklerZ will flutter, giving it a kicking leg action. When put under a dock, slightly move your rod up and down, giving the legs movement. They will eat this up faster then a hookset. Go ahead and try this, you won’t regret it!
