Submerged Vegetation
Finding the greenest vegetation near points or breaks on the biggest structures in 7-14 feet of water was key. Pitching a jig into grass and short hopping it was effective for pulling large numbers and quality fish into the boat, if hopping and pausing was no longer getting bites, alternating between hops and dragging would get bit almost every time. The fish had definitely started to school, and if you could get one to commit, the rest of the school would turn on.

Ned Rigs

Rock Pile
A bit windy and intermittently cloudy the other day, but Ned rigs worked well when slow dragged along the bottom edge of a deeper rocky break, somewhere around 18-24 ft deep. If you can identify a small flat or other anomaly on the break and use that as a starting point. The best spots had rock that extended both up and down the entire break and a small flat or other minor change at some point along the break. Staying out of the wind proved beneficial, not only to allow the bait to remain stationary at times, but the bite was better on the slightly more protected structure. Adding a small amount of chartreuse to the baits was also beneficial.
