Recently completed a kayak tournament on Koronis and took 2nd place dragging a carolina rig through isolated grass clumps in 10-12 FOW. Play around with leader length to figure out what the fish are wanting. Start off with an 18-24" leader and trim up to 12-14" if the water is off-colored or stained. The fish are schooled up and once you find them, the bite can be fast and furious! Make repetative casts to the same grass clumps for multiple back-to-back fish. The fish were soo aggressive that they were hitting the bait without a tail. Again, once you find them, work the area thoroughly.

Was an overall slow day summer day until the wind picked up. If you are out there, find shallow areas where the wind is hitting hard and throw around some moving baits. Cover water in that less then 10 foot range, should stumble across so shallow smallies.
