Spotted BassTechniqueDrop ShotSeasonFallStructurePointsDuring the recent Palmetto Boat Center College Tournament on Lake Lanier, my partner and I caught all of our fish on drop shot rigs on points in 10-20 feet of water. Early in the morning when the bass moved up onto the points to feed was the best time period, but this pattern held true all day.

The Fall bite has really started to pick up down here in the South! Fishing main lake humps and points on the bottom end of the lake, searching for areas with fish that were actively feeding on baitfish. The key was to keep moving and run multiple areas until you found the fish that were willing to commit to your bait. I would first start out with a zoom super fluke, hooked in the nose, and burning that over the schools of fish that were staged in the brush piles. Then I would follow up with a Neko rigged trick worm and try to catch one or two of the less active fish before running to the next pile!
