Largemouth BassTechniqueSwim JigsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureDocksOuting was for May 16, 2026. Weather was gorgeous with a strong west wind. High around 80 and clear skies. Water temps from 62 to 66. Panfish and bass were everywhere up shallow, saw lots of bass and panfish on nests. Caught a couple nice ones on a jig and also a small frog. Then also caught a bunch of midsized to small fish. Very nice day!

Largemouth BassTechniqueBladed JigsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructurePointsWent cruising around this evening to spawning flats. Fish were piled around the edges preparing to spawn. I was able to see them on livescope and pitch to them. Didn’t want a jig/minnow combo, very noncommittal so switched to a slow drag ned and that was the ticket. Got my bigger fish on a white jackhammer. Bomb casting up onto the flat catching cruisers.

Largemouth BassTechniqueBladed JigsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureLaydownsNothing like good old third winter in Minnesota to shake the bass up a little bit. Got a decent outing in after logging off for the day. Not gonna lie the bite was a grind, but when they were hittin, they were hammering.4.5lb banger.

Largemouth BassTechniqueSwim JigsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureDocksThis outing is for Saturday, May 2nd. Fished from about 9am to 3pm. Started out fishing in what are obvious spawning areas and didn't see anything, so slid off to the first drop and caught a couple small males on a jackhammer, but nothing worth writing home about. After that left the spawning bay and pulled just outside that bay to a main lake grouping of docks, and it was on! Large momma's were waiting at the docks to make a move to the spawning grounds. Caught a handful of 2.5 to 4lb ladies on a jig skipped up under the docks. Caught 3 on the first docks, 2 on the 2nd docks and 1 on the next couple. Wow was that fun! Water temps were in the mid 50's and it was windy out of the west, with air temps in the low 50's.

Largemouth BassTechniqueBladed JigsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationSlow rolling and yo-yoing the ol chatterbait across some weed edges. Warning if you try this tactic your shoulders will be sore from holding up the pre-spawn beauties
