TechniqueStructure JigsSeasonSummerStructureLaydownsIf you you prefer targeting largemouth bass over spotted bass then look for laydowns right now. Laydowns in small coves off the main lake have been productive. If you can find steep banks with deep water thats even better as they like to transition without much effort.

TechniqueDeep Diving Crankbaits (13'+)SeasonSummerStructurePointsI have found that the spotted bass are schooling on/near main lake points(midlake). Use your electronics and mark bait balls with bass in the area and then work these points with mid-deep diving crankbaits keeping contact with the bottom from top to bottom. There are some smaller quality spotted bass hanging on the shoals around Queens Landing that bite pretty easily as they are roaming up and down the breaks. If the cranking bite slowdown, switch to a 3”-4” swim bait and burn it through the water column to get the reaction bite. On cloudy days this bite could last into late morning but if it is high sun then it turns off fast and you must look for deep shaded docks with current and go with a dropshot or a small swimbait.
