Running & gunning mid-lake points the first few hours of the day slinging a bone colored walking bait will produce plenty of blow ups but once the sun tops the trees or clouds burn off switch it up & pull out the drop shot rod & fan cast around the bait balls you find on your electronics. Light line (6lb) has been key for me putting a few extra in the boat during the heat of the day.
