TechniqueStructure JigsSeasonSummerStructureDocksThe bite is changing quickly at Lake of the Ozarks with summer coming to an end. I have seen more and more shad moving back into the coves with each cool night we’ve had this week. The last few days I have been finding better sized fish around shallow docks in less than 8ft. My bait of choice has been the 1/2oz Crock-O-Gator Zapper Jig in Magic Craw or Brown Purple Scale. Skipping it underneath the walkways and swim platforms has been the best way to catch these bass. This bite should continue to get better and better through the fall!

TechniqueShakey HeadsSeasonSummerStructureBrush PilesFocused Primarily on deeper structure in about 20-25 foot of water. Lots of fish going deeper due rising water temps, spotted a giant mark cruising over the brush pile on my forward facing sonar. Casting 10-12 feet past the structure (brush pile) is key. When we were hooked up, you could see 2-3 more fish follower her out of the pile. The bigger the pile was, the better.

TechniqueTexas Rigs (Pitch/Flip)SeasonSummerStructureDocksSpent the evening fishing the Niangua Arm of the Lake between the Highway 5 bridge and the mouth of the Little Niangua. Was able to find a solid bite flipping around the shade of the docks. The docks that have the x braces on the front seemed to produce better. The fish were suspended and were eating the bait on the initial fall so watching your line was very important.
