Largemouth BassTechniqueBladed JigsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureDocksThis Saturday, we fished OMTT out of PB2. We ran up to the Hurricane Deck area—my partner had been on fish there. The bite was tough, but we started with a bang: he caught a 3.5- to 4-pounder on a creature bait. I followed with a solid 3.5-pounder on a spinnerbait. After a long lull, we headed back toward takeoff and filled our limit on a green pumpkin and B Hite Delight JackHammer chatterbait. The fish were set up behind docks in the back corners, easier to catch in that cleaner water. Most were halfway back on secondary points. We ended with 16.13 pounds, finishing 48th out of 200 boats. We were able to 18.18 with the majority of them coming on wacky rigged senkos. The spawn is under way but the biggest wave of spawners is still coming. Cranking wind blown channel swings in the middle of creek arms. I was able catch some good keepers in the early evening once the wind slowed a bit. Secondary points near spawning pockets were best if the channel swung near them.

Took 2nd place in a little club derby throwing a floating worm and chatter bait on spawning flats. Sight fishing was tough due to being overcast plus stained water but was able to pick up a 4.68 and 3.45. Plenty of males on beds but didn’t see many females yet.
