First time fishing at phalen and was able to catch some decent bass with a biggun of 4.12 lbs. Jigs outside of weeds were working for me. Also caught a couple off the yamatanuki and dark sleeper as well.

I do a lot of shore fishing within the isles of Phalen Lake. The smaller creek has a lot of 1lb - 2lbers laying underneath the heavy vegetation. A weightless senko or dinger worm works best. I haven't had much luck fishing on the dock of Phalen Lake. I've tried senkos, dingers, dropshots, and also swimbaits without much luck of any strike during the summer months.
