TechniqueTrolling Mid Depth (10-19')SeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureLedgesIt's that short time of the year when walleye stage on shoreline ledges feeding on baitfish. Trolling leadcore line line with Berkley Flicker Shad crankbaits has been effective recently. Spool out enough line (approx 130 ft) to make the bait bounce off a 20 ft bottom. Weave out to deeper depths to suspend the bait and then weave back in to make it hit bottom again. Often at those transitions is when a hungry walleye will hit the bait! Water temps 65-69

TechniqueBladed JigsSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureRip RapI think the fish are off the beds and recuperating. Water temps 65-68 depending on the depth and wind. None of the fish I caught had bellies fat with eggs. I had success covering a lot of ground throwing a chatterbait to pick of the fish still hanging around. All fish in 8-10 feet of water. I’m sure there out there deep recuperating if you like throwing some deep diving crank baits.

Fishing was fantastic with Walleye's, Saugers, Big White Bass, Smallmouth Bass and Northern Pike being caught with of course our fare share of Drum being caught. It started out as a tough day with winds gusting 25mph out of the north and temperature dropping as the day progressed. All fish were caught in the 20 - 25 FOW range. 1/4 oz Jig and Minnow was used. Another great day on the Croix. Keep those lines tight
