Finally took delivery of the new boat and got back on Lake Tillery this week. Caught several smaller bass (nothing over 1.25 lbs) chasing baitfish in what was clear, shallow water (depths of 2' to 5') under very sunny skies. Air temps were near 80 degrees, water temps were in the low 70's. Had some success both around isolated laydowns in coves (larger baitfish, so the 3.8" shad on an underspin worked well) and up creeks (downsized to 2.8" with smaller shad here). Bites all came either bouncing off the laydowns or dragging the bottom with a moderate retrieve.
