TechniqueHard JerkbaitsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructurePoints5/31/2022 Water temp was 48-50 degrees. Caught several very nice pre-spawn smallmouth fishing rocky points in 6-10’ of water, close to deeper water at the mouth of bays leading to spawning flats. My #1 fish catcher was the Magabass Vision 110+1 fished slow with long pauses (5-10 seconds). I fished the jerkbait on 10lb fluorocarbon like to get it down and stay in the strike zone.

TechniqueHard JerkbaitsSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructurePointsWater temps in the AM were 67 but warmed up to 70-71 main lake by late afternoon. We caught quite a few Smallies targeting main lake points and the shorelines near them. The windier the better it seemed. The big bites seemed to escape us this day, tubes and hair picked up some but Jerkbaits were the ticket for us.
