We went out on Smith today hoping to find some fish for a upcoming club tournament. Started in towards a pocket and caught the first of many fish on a jerkbait on the point. And continued to run that pattern all day long. Clay points and 45° banks around the points. We caught way more overs than unders. Fish seemed to just follow a swimbait and didn't want anything on the bottom. It had to be moving fast and erratic to get them to bite for us. Not a giant limit but a fun day. I did use my Lowrance AT to scan the points and see if I could see the fish out about 60-70 ft away and when I did we caught them. Even my bud fishing from the back of the boat. I would just say their here and we would start catching them. Great day on the water and a much needed day for both of us.
