Largemouth BassTechniqueShallow Diving Crankbaits (0-6')SeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructurePointsIt was HOT on the lake. The water temps have increased around 5 degrees in a week. A majority of fish caught were still pre-spawn. All fish were caught shallow, seemingly cruising the bank. It seemed like it was a timing issue to catch anything. Waiting on one spot for 2 hours just for the fish to come up and be caught was my trick for success. I would expect this same pattern to continue up until the spawn. -TIGHT LINES!

Largemouth BassTechniqueBuzzbaitsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructurePointsMTL showed up and showed up BIG! Joe Bass Team Trail tournament had 35 boats and 17 limits were weighed! 3 fish were in the boat before 10 this AM with the first 2 coming on a black buzzbait. Healthy fish were up shallow on gravel banks getting ready for the spawn. Early morning, moving baits worked well with cloud cover overhead. Later in the day, slowing down with the ever deadly 5" Yamamoto Senko snagged several. On top of the 6 keepers caught, at least that many short fish were also caught. By far one of the best days on this lake in a LONG time!

Largemouth BassTechniqueSoft JerkbaitsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureStumpsBig cold front came in on Friday and really slowed the fishing down. Majority of bites came from dead sticking a worm and waiting for the bite to come. Fish seemed tight to wood but you could occasionally find a roamer with a shallow crank. With the full moon approaching, the spawn will definitely be on

Largemouth BassTechniqueSoft JerkbaitsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureOpen Water/BasinThe lake is still COLD and MUDDY. There were some spots a little warmer than others but overall its chilly. A couple pockets had muddy water on top with clearer water underneath. 2 bass were caught shallow on the soft jerkbait working it slowly and 1 was caught rolling a shallow diving crankbait on the bottom. I don't think the bass are anywhere near the spawn at this point
