Different finesse techniques were successful in 3-8' water in and on the weed lines. Used 6" wacky, 6" finesse worm rigged Neko, and weedless ned, all with XZone soft baits.

Water temperatures have shot up 20 degrees over the last 2 weeks and fish seem to be in their summer patterns. Bass (and northerns) can be found on medium weed edges using a crankbait. Strikes happened when you pause on weed or the bottom. Other fish were caught slowly dragging a creature off ledges

Water was 70 degrees, the bass were taking a ned rig in 8-10ft of water with milfoil.

Late May, spawn to post spawn fish can be caught around shallow lily pads with a light soft plastic stick bait. Keep a crankbait on hand and you will also grab a few on the move.

We fished wind blown points using bluegill colored baits to target bass. Multiple species (bass, walleye, pike and crappies) were caught using jerkbaits and lipless crankbaits. Slow retrieve and long pauses were key to getting bites. Bass were also caught using very light weight wacky rigs fished slowly.

Took the kayak for a late evening outing. Tossed a wacky rig and tube jig at shallow points around the island for a couple of hours without any luck. Saw some fish on my graph in the main lake channel and decided to throw the slobberknocker with green pumpkin Razor ShadZ trailer and hooked into a handful of LM bass right away.
