Spent the morning fishing Orange Lake. A vast majority of the lake is topped out Hydrilla. I started out the morning throwing a Bitters Bait and Tackle 6" Swim Worm in Blueberry paired with a 5/0 Owner Offset Hook on 20# K9 Fishing Products "8" Strand Braid. Caught several fish throwing along inside points of the Hydrilla matts early in the morning. As the sun cleared the tops of the trees, I switched to flipping a texas rig in the matts themselves because I knew the sun would position the fish under the matts. My flipping setup consisted of a Denali AttaX 7' 4" Heavy power Fast action Casting Rod paired with a Quantum Smoke S3 8.1:1 gear ration Casting Reel with 60# K9 Fishing Products "8" Strand Braid. I was using a Flat Out Tungsten Original 3/4 oz., with a 4/0 VMC Heavy Duty Flipping Hook and my bait of choice lately has been the Bass Addiction Gear Mat Craw in Uncle Doug's Special. Caught two quality fishing flipping the mats with this exact setup.
