With the hot temps the water is warming up again and the bite was slow. With the shallow water the vegetation is thick in some areas. The lily pads were holding some quality bass but they were very spread out over an expanse of cover. They can be seen breaking the surface occasionally and are very aggressive when a lure is thrown near them. Hollow body frogs, horny toads and buzzbaits are working. Smallmouth can be found in the usual spots, behind current breaks. A Texas rig thrown near the cover with find some smallies. Not a lot of size but they are aggressive.

It was a struggle today because of the super hot weather, always able to catch a couple smallmouth on a deep crank (DT8-14) and one ended up being over 3# and multiple other that didn’t measure, moved shallower for largemouth and caught 1 flippin a Texas rig in grass holes and caught 1 more on a swimjig down the grass lines and only weighed in 3 fish.
