On 04/04/2022 the weather was cold, cloudy, and wind speeds were about 10mph. Water temps were in the mid to upper 30's and water clarity was about a foot. We spent the day fishing current seams along the wing Dams. The current was a bit quicker than expected that day, but maintaining a consistent drift speed helped keep baits near the bottom which produced more bites. Boat traffic was moderate that morning and got heavier towards the dam. Only one decent fish caught that day and it was a 22 inch pre-spawn Sauger. As water temps increase this spot will only get better and better. Jigging blade baits, and lip-less crank baits off the bottom proved to be most successful.

Caught several Walleye and sauger throughout the day Fishing a blade bait in 3/8 and 1/2. Ounce size All. Chartreuse and perch Colors worked best. Fished anywhere from 10 to 20 foot up and down the ledges.

Slow, winding small to medium size cranks, bouncing off of the rocks where the smallmouth bass are pulling up on an extreme shallow water. They’re looking for the warmest water and the most sun. Smaller sized fish, but water is still cold. Maribou hair jig got some bites to.
