Hammered fish all day from first light till sunset, lost count around thirty between the two of us. Tiny glides, jigs, chatterbaits, Texas rigs. Brown/red jig with a menace on the back was the deal though. Super hot day, very sunny, little wind. Coves, laydowns, and shallow hard bank slopes. Some were cruising for breakfast in the morning, most were pulled outta pretty thick wood cover though.

A few minutes past first light, glass calm water. stopped by the bridge and saw a couple busting up chasing shad. Tossed the Nessie to em and within a few twitches this one smashed it. Another good smallie hit a karashi on my brother’s next cast as well.

Overcast day, light drizzle, no wind. Caught one on a wacky rigged senko, saw this beast chasing bait breaking the surface, started fishing a chatterbait fast and erratic, only got a few cranks in before I caught this one.

Got em a little before sunset before work from the bank. Bounced along till he snatched it.

Nicest one of the day, came off a stump in three feet or less as my trap bounced across it. Fairly muddy, back of a long shallow flat. Caught five or six more throughout the day on spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, and Ned rigs.

The nicest was on the chatterbait, fishing off a fifteen foot cliff… Very windy, deeper grass beds at about twenty feet or so up against a pretty abrupt rock bank.

Worked my way around a flat, maybe eight to ten feet deep, down to dirt. Boat got stuck… Huge grass mat in the middle, worked the edges and anywhere I thought I could swim through. This one hit right after ripping through a clump. Sunny day, little to no wind. Handful more hit skipping under some overhangs, then a couple decent on a ned trd from the bank after I loaded the boat.
