Had a nice session in the evening after heavy rainfall. They were chasing a black and blue swimjig from 4 pm to 5 pm around isolated cypress trees. As the sun set, they were hitting dragon flies and bait on the surface, so I tossed that Spro poppin frog in there for a 3lber and a few 2lbers.

Swam the underspins through sparse lily pads and around lily pad edges. Also swam a shad pattern 1.5 silent squarebill crankbait along lilypad edges to get a few bites.

Fishing was tough in the evening. The fish were chasing shad balls all evening, but they weren't too interested in what I was throwing. I caught a few smaller bass on spinnerbaits and swim jigs, but the biggest bass caught finally came on a buzzbait at sunset.

Flipped the 10" bullworm into the reeds and worked it out into the heavy lily pads to get a few bites in the late morning (10 to 11am)

The Spro flappin frog was getting smoked as I was swimming it over the top of the lillies.

Pitched the 10" Bullworm into the reeds and under the cypress trees and held on for the fun ride. Pegging the weight helped tremendously to keep from getting tangled and allowed me to make more efficient casts.

The majority of the bites came on a moving bait like bladed jigs and spinnerbaits and underspins. Had the Shimano Mastiff flouro tied on and brought through some tough cover. It never let me down.
