Largemouth BassTechniqueTexas Rigs (Pitch/Flip)SeasonFallStructureBrush PilesFirst time on this lake - tried a bladed jig, swim jig, crankbait, wacky rig, and wasn’t getting anything, finally tied on an unpegged Texas rig and that did the trick. Not a lot of bigger fish but I probably caught a dozen or so in 3ish hours. Absolutely love the Dobyns Extreme 704c for light Texas rigs. The water level is way down on this lake right now and the water is stained. There weren't any bass on the spawning beds yet and the deep fish weren't in the mood to bite. The best method was tossing jerk baits toward brush piles in 4 to 6 feet of water. The Wisconsin DNR dropped a lot of brush piles around the shoreline of the lake.

SpeciesLargemouth BassTechniqueWacky RigsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureRock PileFound the fish in rocky areas. I think the rocks warmed the water just a tad. Worked the areas with a wacky rig, and then again with the Ned Rig. Fish are just starting to make beds, but haven't spawned yet.

The fish that were not on beds were on a secondary weed line in about 4' where the elodea transitions to grass.

This lake has had a severe winterkill. The lake is slowly on the rebound.
