Smallmouth BassTechniqueUmbrella RigsSeasonFallStructureRock PileCraziest day of fishing ever. Huge east winds (against the current), huge waves and overcast! 53° water and murkier than usual. I was bombing my A-Rig all day and caught 27.33lbs with my buddy! More than 20 fish over 4 pounds. It was nuts. They couldn't stop biting it! The smallies would stage right on that edge of that flat close to deeper water!

Smallmouth BassTechniqueHard JerkbaitsSeasonFallStructureRock PileSlow wind, cloudy and sunny skies, 50° water and smallmouths feeding for fall! Great jerkbait bite on rock flats. Target casting on boulders and I'd get smashed on long pauses.

Smallmouth BassTechniqueDrop ShotSeasonSummerStructureBouldersLong drifts in 16-40 feet of water with a drop shot produced lots of big smallmouths.

Smallmouth BassTechniqueNed RigsSeasonFallStructureRock PileCold front this week has given some of the fish lock jaw. Still catching fish but you have to work for them a little more. The best fishing of the day has been taking place between 10am and 2pm.

Smallmouth BassTechniqueBlade BaitsSeasonFallStructureBouldersStill catching a lot of fish on a drop shot. Depth is a little deeper in the 20-35 foot range. Most fish have been coming looking for isolated rock and boulders and picking them apart with a drop shot and blade baits

Smallmouth BassTechniqueBladed JigsSeasonFallStructureBoulders52 degree water, 15km/h winds, sunny sky with a little bit of clouds and feeding smallmouths. Roamed around shallow flats all day and caught just under 24lbs for my best 5. They would INHALE the chatterbait. NO hesitation. I would set the boat against the current and bring the bait back with the current. As soon as I saw a light spot on the flat, I would spot-lock 10-15 feet away from it and make a couple of casts across the spot and that's where I'd get my bites. Also caught my personal best smallmouth: 6lb-8oz. GREAT day !
