Omnia Fishing Report: Table Rock Lake Pre-Spawn Action So here’s the lowdown from Table Rock. Got a little late start,yeah, had to snap some glam shots of the boat since she’s about to hit the market. Finally launched and rigged up, and by 8:30 I made that first cast. Of course, the fish decided to play heartbreaker right out of the gate, missed a couple on the minnow, but hey, that’s fishing. Spent the next chunk of the morning doing a little detective work for those jig fish. We combed through main lake points, secondary points, even those sneaky little points tucked in the back of creeks. Honestly, it was a bit of a ghost town in some spots. But persistence paid off, by the afternoon, we got dialed in and nailed a nice 5 pounder on a Motion Fishing Flash Mob football jig. That got the momentum rolling. Found a few more areas with fish pushing over three pounds and got into a groove. Secondary rocky points seemed to be the ticket for these nice sized bass. Foot By the time the wind picked up, we switched to a Spro Rock Crawler and started pulling them in that 6-10 foot range on rocky banks. Basically, Table Rock’s shaping up for a sweet pre-spawn bite. The water is warming up and the fish are biting. They are moving back in the creeks and pockets, coves. A-Rig and spinnerbait bite was really good. Caught a few on a shakey head and square bill crank bait. So i caught fish on a wide variety of baits today.

There were a lot of patterns working this weekend at table rock (April 9th), but our best pattern to catch big fish was throwing jerkbaits on points. The bite was very specific along with the areas we caught our fish. We caught fish of all three species weighing 3 plus pounds. It was important for the points to be windblown and flat, and if there was standing timber, we seemed to get better quality bites. The fish were schooling on very small bait meaning the small jerkbait was key. Lastly, we had to work our jerkbaits far more aggressively than you normally would work a 110 with about 5 second pauses.
