White Bear Lake continues to be good for bass fishing with a drop shot. I caught 4 bass and 4 pike. Most of the fish were in 14 feet of water.

I competed in a local kayak tournament this past weekend and took home the win. I caught all of my fish on a frog and flipping outside edges of isolated reed beds. The water temp was mid-70s and the bluegills were actively spawning. There were wolfpacks of bass hanging inside of the reed beds and they would move in/out throughout the day. The frog bite was hot in the morning and then the bite switched to a flipping bite by 11am. Long pauses (3-4 seconds) on the frog worked best in the morning to elicit larger bites.
