I participated in the TRA tournament and had a tough outing. The water was down a foot and some change and no current was being pulled. Today was more of a junk fishing day to say the least. I threw everything under the sun and caught a mixture of largemouth and smallmouth. I believe the lack of current and water drop page had the fish in a lethargic mood.

The smallmouth have been schooling like crazy feeding on shad. The largemouth are schooling as well. I found a massive school and pushed up shallow on points and flats. I caught over 10 bass that were a mixture of largemouth and smallmouth.

We’ve had quite a few cooler nights recently with temps down in the high 50’s and low to mid 60’s. The first cold front had most of the fish shut down and lethargic. Since then they’ve turned on and feeding like crazy. Now is a great time to get a spinnerbait, bladed jig, square bill, DT 10 and start covering water!

Today was a great of fishing! My buddy and I caught over 15 fish that were a mix of largemouth and smallmouth. The majority of the bites came on the DT-10 and the rest of the came on spinnerbaits and jerk baits. If you can find the Shad start fishing they are feeding like crazy!

The bass have the shad pushed up shallow. A lot of bass are schooling as well so topwater plugs, rooster tails, spinnerbaits are hot right now!

I tried everything from jerkbaits, topwater, dragging, flipping, cranking you name it. I finally got on a consistent jig bite and never checked up.
