Threw a little green speckled crankbait (6-8ft) towards some docks and reeled quickly towards the open water. Caught them back to back to back, this biggen being that last one I caught.

I was about to leave and threw out a chatterbait from the bank in maybe 2 feet of water and caught this little guy. A couple of them were feeding around a shad bed very shallow.

Smallmouth are on beds guarding fry in 6-8 ft. 1st thing in the morning cast a walking bait over flats and wait for some violent strikes. Once that bite ends, start working a shaky head in 6-8 ft and " Watch your Line"!

Smallmouth smackdown today. The smallies started to move onto the spawning flat with a pea-gravel bottom. Water temps were 60-62 degrees and strong wind. Had a 16 lb 5-fish limit today!

PB Alert: Caught my biggest 5 fish limit today, 18 lbs, all smallmouth. I worked the shakey very slow on a rocky flat in 3-6 ft of water. The Rapala scales are very easy to use and alloe you to update your total as you cull.

Threw a deeper diving crank (8-12’) around current breaks where I saw bait fish. Caught a couple little guys.
