Largies are staging around laydowns and fast twitching a Jerkbait is a very cool visual bite and will put quality in the boat.

Water visibility was good (5-6 feet). Wind light out of the SW. Few fish on beds yet. Many buck males cruising the shade line in spawning pockets. Targeted laydowns extending into deeper water. Used weightless 5" Senko Texas rigged, D-Bomb with only a 1/4 oz weight, or 1/2 oz shad colored Pulsator. Stikes were subtle takes, even on the spinnerbait.

Make lake who's were hovering around 62. We found a good number of large bass in the backs of the creeks. The water temp was 66 in the backs. Throwing close to cover, we were able to get them to bite with the Bronco bug texas rigged. Water was still dirty but it had cleared up a bit

I had my most success today making short casts and then after the fall pop the wacky rig, let it fall, then pop it again. The fish were picking it up on the second fall. Had some success in the early afternoon with a spinner bait around wood lay downs

Caught the biggest of the day (3 lb 12 oz). On a black and blue jack hammer with black and blue flake rage craw trailer. She was in the back of creek. All the fish caught were in backs of the creeks. One was caught on the Bronco Bug. They were still in prespawn. They were all very fat and full of eggs. Water was about 57 near the damn but we saw it get up to 63 in the back of the creeks.

Working pockets with laydowns 6 to 10ft into water have shown promise for best size of fish. Flipping all stucture within this depth zone leading into spawnimg areas will give great success.

Started with the black and blue chatterbait but was getting short strikes. Switched to the shadtron and had one on. Finally the sun came out so I switched the white chatterbait and was able to catch a couple.

Caught them all in the back of the creek on a jig, in the mouths of pockets on a crankbait (what the big one came on) and some in the middle of creek arms on bait with a freeloader. You had to keep it on their nose for them to eat it with the a cold front and dirty water present.

Fish were up shallow ambushing from thicker areas of vegetation. Seemed to hit a slower steady retrieve rather than burning the bait. Late in the day was able to hook into a nice 22.25 inch Largemouth bass.
