The bass were on the chunk rock banks on the outside of the pocket around submerged brush. We were fishing parallel to the bank and casting to the bank and working out to 20’ off of the bank. The bass were pretty active and we were still cranking pretty quickly. The DT6 was the best performer followed by the Berkley Dime. Craw patterns were the best that we threw.

Nothing worked except for jerkbaits today. Megabass 110 jr and +1 worked in shad type colors. Bass feeding on very small shad today. Off points and rocky banks in 4-10 ft deep was where we finally found them. These hooks are sharp! Finally got one embedded in my finger today. That was fun getting out!!

The fish are migrating into the creeks and feeding up on the gizzard and threadfin shad. Today we caught many stripers and largemouth on the 6th sense Flat 75x but the hot bait was by far the 6th sense Draw 9” catching several stripers and a couple larger largemouth feeding up on baby white bass.

Post cold front and fishing was tough. Nothing on topwater, crankbaits or jerkbait. Finally found them on points on the main lake. 10-20ft deep dropshotting 6” roboworms in shad type colors worked. Slow almost dead sticking was needed.

This tournament day at T-Bar I was able to land 4 decent keepers on an underspin/swimjig combo made by megabass with a megabass shad trailer. The key to these bites I felt were slowly creeping the bait across the bottom around 17-22ft near humps, points, and walls. Cast, wait, let it drop, then creep it along. mixed bag: both smallies and largemouth took to this approach.
