Casting around and parallel to docks to catch roaming bass. Cold front conditions with high north winds followed a warm sunny day.

Dragging along the bottom wasn’t working so I began doing a more aggressive lift and drop. Got a reaction bite from this guy after a big lift.

Hopping along the bottom and pausing. Cut the worm down to about 4-5 inches because the bass in the shallows are a bit smaller.

Everything is on beds right now so I was popping a ned rig around shallow flats and caught this little bass.

The Great Lakes Finesse 2.75" Drop Minnow worked really well on a dropshot for me on lake Erie in late July. Caught lots of smallmouth on it and a few big ones too!

Had a great day out with the smallest. Water temps hovering right around 61°, air temp a bit cooler. A slight breeze from the North West putting a little motion on the surface. Started the day off pretty quick with a bass on a wacky rig and then another on a t-rigged stick bait. From that point on it was pretty much the Jerkbait for the rest of the day. Every 6-10 minutes I hooked up with another bass on the 110 SR. The jerkbait far exceeded my expectations. I caught 15 total on it during the ~3.5 hours we were out. We caught a few on frogs, ned's, stickbaits as well. And my little angler in the photo managed to outfish my co-angler again.

Found smallmouth and largemouth and pike in small slack water bays with laydowns present adjacent to side channels with heavy current current. Fish were in 4 feet or shallower. Lot of different baits produced but a chatterbait was the most consistent.

Caught seven or eight largemouth, broke off three, two decent smallmouth, and a couple perch. Pretty overcast day with a few sunny breaks. Fairly constant breeze. Pretty clear water with a few murky patches from some runoff. Most were pulled up from maybe ten feet or less.

Smallmouth were scattered all around on beds and were easy targets with a Berkley max scent lil general in coppertruse color. Love how aggressive the bronze backs are. My best was this 4 pounder. So much fun sight fishing them.

The largemouth have begun their move shallow to spawn. After working the spawning areas with reaction baits and not getting many bites, I decided to slow and pitch to visible beds with a strike king rage bug and started to land several fish. Biggest was this 5 pounder who inhaled my bait as soon as it dropped near her. She gave me a nice battle. Love this time of year.
