The bass were hitting up close to the shore on black buzzbaits and shad colored swim jigs in protected coves on the main lake. I also noticed that most of my bites came in the afternoon.

The wind has been blowing hard for the last few days. The shallow back bays protected from the wind we’re not working. There was a wind blown bank with drift wood, stumps and some rocks. I made pitches to everything giving the pit boss a few hops at each then repeating. I started picking up some large mouth. Nothing huge but, still a great day out on a tough lake.
