Crankbaits work well on Canyon Lake. The bass are chasing shad often and the Rapala DT Series crankbaits are good at tricking them into biting. These baits work best when you can make contact with the structure or cover on the retrieve. Match the size crankbait to the depth you are fishing. Canyon Lake has very clear water, but up the river the clarity can get much murkier. Use realistic colors in clear water and bright colors in darker water.
