Good day of fishing. Bass are starting to get up on beds in the backs of creeks. Rocky areas with a little harder bottom were more successful. Water temperature is starting to warm up in creeks more than the main lake so far.

Also caught some on a dropshot and Texas rig. Most fish I was catching were in 10-15 feet of water on weed lines. Also caught many pike on the same techniques.

Good day of fishing. Bass are definitely post spawn at this point. Best success was working weed lines in 10-15 ft of water. Catching both largemouth and smallmouth.

I dipped the paddle tail in red die worm coloring.

Some were still shallow chasing around gills on the remaining gill beds. A couple were already offshore under large schools of gills that were visible to me on livescope. Soaking a drop shot was the most effective way to get bit during a very difficult time of year in southern Wisconsin.

Slop was hard pushed along the shorelines and bass would attack the frog on slop. Don’t underestimate the power of a frog for fish spawning under mats. Also caught fish over a shallow early pad field with the buzz bait. The thicker the weeds the better strikes.
