Starting the summer transition. Some bass still shallow near standing trees and stumps. Used a strike king sexy dawg hard knock in the natural shad color. Cast near the structure and walk the bait 5 feet and pause 5 feet more and pause and watch them explode on it when you pause the bait.

Fished near rip rap at kenlake marina wall with strike king buzz minnow which is basically a whopper plopper. Retrieve at medium to fast speed landed a couple largemouths and one smallie. Get out there and try some topwater baits. It's at the right time with water levels over summer pool where water has reached bushes and vegetation.

2-Day club tournament as a co-angler and we threw everything in the book at them. I caught every fish on a weightless Texas Rigged 6" Yum Dinger, and the color did not seem to matter. Pitched it into sparse emergent vegetation near any isolated flooded Buckbrush.

Fished a small tournament on 6/7 with 16 boats and we took 1st place with 20.75lbs- we took a 1 pound penalty for 2 of the fish that died in the live well. Unfortunately the biggest was one of them and it would have gotten us big bass for the tournament but can’t count a dead fish for big bass for our rules. All were caught on a strike king 6 xd in blue and chartreuse casting to the top of the ledges and bringing it down the break into 17-18’.

It was a tough bite i garbage weather but with the lake up flipping a wacky into and infront of flodded brush was a game changer
