Lots of bass cruising the shallow grass in the NW corner, good quality fish, but the bite’s been slow. Picked this one off with a Jackhammer, casting right to the edge of the cattails in less than a foot of water.

Caught a decent largemouth early afternoon working a spiral neko rig into scattered grass. Water was stained from yesterday’s rain, with about 2ft of visibility. I let the bait fall on a semi-slack line, and most of the bites came right as it hit bottom or during that first subtle lift. The spiral fall from this rig seemed to trigger a reaction strike from otherwise hesitant fish.
