Look for wind blown shorelines with weeds coming up, this time of year they are just starting. Use your electronics, if you have side imaging that works the best to cover a lot of area and to see the fish and weeds. Look for areas that are 10-15' deep with a slow break. put out 20' of line behind the boat a start at about 1 mph and depending on the day go a little slower or faster see what works the best. I use a crawler but leaches work well also. If you use a each just cut off the extra hook.

Learn and trust your Electronics no matter what you are using, If you have your Grandpa's Green box or the latest unit, learn it. We were throwing Berkley Champ swimmers with a 3/8 oz jig into 3-10 feet of water targeting active Walleyes on top. Using 10 lb braid tying about a 6' piece of 8lb mono and tying direct to the jig. Throw out onto the rock pile and use a slow snapping action on the retrieve back to the boat or cast onto the hump and just reel it back to the boat. Before you start using your plastic twist and pull on the tail careful not to break it off to loosen up the tail so it vibrates more in the water. Good Luck!
