Largemouth BassTechniqueMedium Diving Crankbaits (7'-12')SeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureRip RapFished from my kayak for 4 days and tried 4 different locations. The first day I tried Ha Ha Tonka. The water was in the mid to upper 50's but was very muddy and had a lot of debris floating in it. Zero bites that day. The second day I launched at the LOZ State Park. The water was pretty much the same here. Saw temps reach 60 where the sun hit the bluff walls. Still zero bites. The 3rd day was the start of my tournament. Headed north to find clear water. Fished a bay off of the main lake and managed to finally find some bass. Caught a few off of the wiggle wart and chatterbait along rocky shorelines. The 2nd day of the tourney I launched at Coffman and caught a couple on the wiggle wart again. Water temps in the clear water were around 51 degrees both days. I tried a heavier spinning setup using Mastiff 16lbs FC. I was throwing a small swimbait with it and had some bites. Didn't get enough experience with it yet but did notice the line is strong. Was able to pull my swimbait out of a snag by bending the hook. Overall, the fishing and conditions were very tough. Only managed to catch 5 keepers over 4 days of fishing in multiple parts of the lake.

Largemouth BassTechniqueDrop ShotSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructurePointsWater is still stained to dirty in the glaze arm depending on what sections you fish. I started out throwing a Booyah spinnerbait and Z-Man big blade Chatterbait around in the dirty water but didn't have much luck only boating one short fish. Fishing is still tough but was able to get bites on a drop shot once I started focusing on secondary points and channel swings half way back in the creeks. Also found some activity on one main lake point that had a ton of bait. It sure was a beautiful day on the water I couldn't have asked for a better day of weather even though it didn't really help the fishing.

Largemouth BassTechniqueShakey HeadsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureRiver ChannelsFishing was a little bit better then yesterday but still struggled to find much size. We stuck to channel swing banks and secondary points in the middle portion of creek arms. Best two fishing methods were Shakey heads and drop shots. The Shakey head produced much better the first half of the day and the drop shot was the ticket the second half. The Shakey head I used was a homemade football style similar to the one above in 3/8oz. The Spike-it was key because of the stained water. We boated 40 fish all day with a 11-12lb limit. If you just wanna catch fish this was fun but I didn't come across and big ones.

Largemouth BassTechniqueWacky RigsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureDocksFound lots of bucks on the banks and a few females. I was skipping the wacky senko behind the docks early in the day. You could catch numbers but not much for size. I believe the females are still staging down the lake.

Largemouth BassTechniqueUmbrella RigsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructurePointsFished the TBF National Championship last week, ended up 19th. I could get bit on a jig but the only thing I could catch keepers on was the flash mob jr with the Scottsboro swimbaits. Fish where suspended next to deep water on secondary points.
