TechniqueStructure JigsSeasonSummerStructurePointsFished a club tournament on Little Seneca Lake in Black Hill Regional Park in sweltering heat and humidity. The fishing was slow, but I was able to catch a quality limit, including this 4lb chunk, by fishing deep points with an Ike's Mini Flip Jig. I tried a 1/2oz jig since I was fishing depths of 23 to 35 feet, but I could only get bit when I switched to a 3/8oz jig. The fish seemed to like the slower fall of the lighter jig in the warm water.

TechniqueHard JerkbaitsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureLaydownsFished Little Seneca Lake for a few hours after our club tournament was canceled due to high winds and a small craft advisory on the Potomac River. The bite was slow, but we found a couple fish, including this beauty. Fish are still in pre-spawn mode as a result of recent heavy rain and colder than normal temperatures over the past couple weeks. Water temperatures have not risen out of the upper 40s and low 50s in most areas, so the spawn is still to come.
