Cannot go wrong with a shallow jerk bait in the post spawn. I caught NUMBERS this year. One morning I only had a couple hours but already boated 11 in the first half hour, with a few other fish species on top of that. These fish are eat it.

This lake is heavy recreation and heavy angler pressure, but with a ton of grass, forage, and structure. During the spawn, with it being good visibility you need to be further away from the bed than you would think. I cruise around and look for bright spots in the shallow weed lines or at the base of shallow dock pilings. I then try and see the fish’s shadow in the bright spot (their bed) and if so I move away and come back later to cast from further away. They like a shaky head with a trick worm.
