As the day went on, had to switch to the crankbait and a black/blue jig. Water level came up 6 inches throughout the day and still rising. Very tough bite fishing in Buck Bay and the San Augustine Park areas. The only consistent bite came on the watermelon red baby brush hog Texas rigged with a 3/16-ounce tungsten weight. The best fish came on laydowns. Had to weed through a lot of dinks. Very low tournament weights.
