Largemouth Bass
TechniqueShallow Diving Crankbaits (0-6')SeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureLily PadsLook for areas of rice that have small lily pad patches reaching the surface. The key ones are the areas of pads that are 20' x 20' and surrounded by rice and other weeds. The pad roots are a little deeper and the bass use the area to nest and hang out. Cast a stickbait into the pockets and let it sink and also a frog over the top is getting fish to blast it.

TechniqueShakey HeadsSeasonFallStructureReedsFishing was slower today, but largemouth could still be found in reeds with hard bottoms. Weather was sunny and hot for September. Shakey head, finesse jigs and flipping jigs produced best results.

Crappie
TechniqueIce Fishing JigsSeasonIceStructureOpen Water/BasinIn structure off the edge of the basin in 25 ft, the crappies would suspend in the teens. Reeling down gently with this heavier type bait after you first drill the hole will typically create a strike from the biggest bully in the group in this case a nice 14”r. Then you may need to downsize shortly thereafter for continued action in that hole or just keep hole hoping with it. Good luck! :)
