Largemouth BassTechniqueBuzzbaitsSeasonSummerStructureStumpsFished cypress trees and stumps with a buzzbait and a swim jig. Bite window was from sunrise to about 10:30 and then turned off.
Species
Largemouth BassTechniqueTexas Rigs (Pitch/Flip)SeasonSummerStructureDocksFished a club tournament on the Chick and had a great day. I found bass in and around grass and pad edges and against hardcover (rocks and wood) as the tides moved in and out of shallow creeks. Bass willingly hit a bone-colored Zara Spook Jr before the sun got too high. Once the sun rose and the tide began to fall, bass receded from the flooded grass and pads and moved to dropoffs where they hit Texas-rigged Berkley Power Worms and Zoom Z Craw Jrs in blue fleck and black, respectively. I caught the 6lb, 12oz and 4lb, 3 oz bass in the photo on consecutive casts off of a single dock piling with the Power Worm

Largemouth BassTechniqueBladed JigsSeasonSummerStructureDocksMade it out for a full day on the Chick and can't say I "found the bite"... Was a bit of junk fishing: your typical cypress tree, pads and dock bite, but nothing specific that was "the deal". Caught 6 total, all of which were in the 2-3lb range. A few came on the swimjig, a few on the chatterbait, and a few on a neko rig. Threw around all of your typical Chick baits: a frog, buzzbait, wacky senko... Nothing.

Largemouth BassTechniqueTexas Rigs (Pitch/Flip)SeasonSummerStructureRiver ChannelsPracticed for an entire day on the Chick and caught lots of bass in advance of a club tournament. I found bass in and around grass and pad edges and against hardcover (rocks and wood) as the tides moved in and out of shallow creeks. Bass willingly hit topwater poppers before the sun got too high, and they bit Jackhammers was the sun rose above the trees. As the tide began to fall, bass receded from the flooded grass and pads and moved to dropoffs where they hit Texas-rigged Zoom Z Craw Jrs.

Largemouth BassTechniqueShakey HeadsSeasonSummerStructureLaydownsFished from 9am-3pm hitting various spots from RockAHock campground to Rivers Rest. Fishing was consistent with fish coming on Shakey head with zoom trick worm in Plum apple and red bug. Downsizing to a finesse worm may have proved more dividends; however, i didn't have any to throw. I did catch a nice fish on a Keitech swim bait fishing the outside edge of the Lilly pads on a bend in the main lake.

Caught many bass, including a few that had deformities like the bass in the photo.
