Deep flats in the early morning was the best time to get bit by walleye. Jumbo perch would hit periodically throughout the day.

First time getting out to Red Lake late ice. Had a tun of fun and caught my limit fairly quickly. Caught my fish in around 14ft of water. There was about 25in of ice when I went out. Fish were still very aggressive which surprised me as it is late ice. Caught my fish on a Clam Leech Flutter Spoon and a Clam Tikka Minnow(3/16oz). Work the baits aggressively as that what they seemed to like. I also caught a 22in walleye on an I Fish Pro which was cool cause you don't catch a lot of walleye 20+ inches on Red Lake.

SpeciesWalleyeTechniqueSpoonsSeasonWinterStructureBaitfishFirst ice is the best time to hit Upper Red Lake, start in 6-8’ of water and keep moving out. Tip your Jigging Rap with a minnow head. I like to put a small ball bearing snap at the jig or tie direct about 2’ up a small Barrel swivel. Good Luck!
