Didnt catch anything probably could have used more weight on the jig head. Live minnows and Hair Jigs, but the current was ripping, ice sheets were floating down river, and a deer stand. Was difficult to stay in one spot.

Fished Kilbourn Dam Flowage in Wisconsin Dells. Walleye bite has been great over the past week. Water levels are returning to normal as they have come down 8 ft since Monday. Today I caught 39 walleye along with 8 perch in the 13”-14” range. All fish were caught on the Kalin’s Google Live Bait Jig 1/4 oz tipped with fathead minnow.

Had to break ice on backwaters to get to some flooded areas off the Wisconsin River to reach smallmouth. Caught a few today but was well worth the effort to get the yak in the water for the first time this year!

Low water levels and slow currents, soft bite, stinger hook is super helpful. Hair jig was a winner, mountains, bucktails, and kalins google eye. Caught limit and then some threw all back as they were all female. Didn’t want to keep anything before the spawn due to bad winter conditions for the walleye and extremely low water levels above the dam.
