Got out on the lake around 7am in the morning to fish topwater around docks. This morning the water temps were around 75-79 degrees and 4-5 ft of water clarity. Little to no wind early in the morning made it perfect to throw the Megabass PopMax topwater around docks. I was throwing the PopMax on a St. Croix Mojo 7’1 MH spinning rod paired with a Daiwa Ballistic MQ 2500 spooled with 15lb braid and 12lb mono leader. I also used a snap clip for the PopMax to allow it to swing back and forth freely. Most of my bites this morning came along the shade of the walkways of the docks and by working it slowly. This PopMax is very versatile because when I’m going between docks I can cast it out and walk the popper like a walking bait in open water as well.
