Fish the swimbaits on a lightweight jig head and swim it just over top of submergent vegetation. Find some that is starting to green up and you will find the bass. 5-8' of water is where they are.

Fished a couple days ago. Water temps in the low 70s. After more than 10 years fishing on this lake I caught my first Smallmouth on this lake this day. It was not a giant but fought like smallies do. Caught in 4' of water ona gravel bar.
