Tanner Raschke
Leech Lake (MN)
Tanner Raschke reported catching Walleye using the Vertical Jigging Mid Depth (10-19') technique and VMC Neon Moon Eye Jig on Leech Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Fished sand flats in 8-15ft on the main lake using side imaging to find pods of fish on the flats. Snap jigging plastics on VMC mooneye jigs in 1/4 or 3/8oz depending on the depth. 12ft or less I used 1/4, deeper than 12ft I used 3/8. The best plastics were the Jackall Rhythm wag 3½" in SS Shad on a 1/4oz VMC mooneye in bluegill color. I was using a St. Croix Eyecon ML Extra fast rod with a daiwa excellent 2500 reel spooled with suffix 832 tracer lime braid and a 6ft leader of seagar invizX 10lb flourocarbon. Water temp was around 75 and it was fairly calm and hot out. There was a significant mayfly hatch "
Mission Tackle Glitter Jig
$0.99 – $3.29

Reported by
Ray Valley
Lake Saint Croix (MN, WI)
Ray Valley reported catching Walleye using the Vertical Jigging Mid Depth (10-19') technique and Mission Tackle Glitter Jig on Lake Saint Croix. Additional comments from this report: "Relatively slow bite for the Wisconsin Opener (although the St. Croix opened up one week earlier). Water temperatures were 50-55 degrees and warming fast with the light switch of a cold La Nina spring and summer seeming to flip overnight. As such, the bite will likely change day by day, so what I say here now, will likely be different tomorrow. Still, although fishing was slow, we picked up a couple nice fish along a current seam in a channel just north of the I94 bridge in Hudson. Pink glitter 1/4 oz jig with a fathead minnow was the ticket."

Jacob Persson reported catching Walleye using the Vertical Jigging Mid Depth (10-19') technique and VMC Neon Moon Eye Jig on Pool 2 Mississippi. Additional comments from this report: "Fish just below the lock on Pool 2. Slow moving to dead stick jig on the bottom. Using bright jigs and white plastics or live minnows worked great. "
